Snow days

While I was really looking forward to the lessons in church today, there is something about sleeping in, not getting dressed, and the white glare coming through the windows that makes this morning perfect.

Thank you Lord for snow days.

  1. You had a blizzard. I had clear skies...and a run-in with a giant pothole that took out the left front ball joint at 40+ mph, fortunately on a straight section of road in Syracuse at a time of light traffic. Lots of blessings on this one. Had I not driven an extra few miles around the north country Christmas night, the thing might have broken on an elevated, curved and sloped two-lane exit for Auburn off the I-690 that is usually quite jammed with traffic. Tow truck driver said that I would have probably gone over the guard rail. Tire had turned perpendicular, jamming the steering straight. Had no trouble keeping it on the road, no trouble getting it stopped, and the tow to Auburn was totally covered by insurance. Dogs were tethered in the back seat, and they didn't even get thrown around. Got to church in time to lead the special choir number we've been feverishly working on, too! So, yes, a great day of blessings and gratitude!
